See-sawing between soft and harsh. Relationships are beautifully difficult in this. Hard ache, anxiety, depression and longing never looked so gorgeous. The masterful and spot on gaffing. One of the best edited films of the year. An epic emotional journey

Intoxicating and absorbing. Slow moving like a train and surreal like a dream. Production design is fabulous. One of the best cinematography of the years. An absolute beautiful film.
6. FRANKENSTEIN

A technical masterpiece. Del Toro gets Victor Frankenstein right. A rewatch is necessary to thoroughly enjoy. Best costume of the year, and one of the best production design and set of the year.
5. ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER

One of the best scripts of the year, and one of the best ensemble casts of the year. Poignant to today’s atmosphere. Timing is everything in film and it had perfect timing for its release. Amazingly acted thorough out.
4. WEAPONS

Not only one of the best horror films of the year. It’s one of the best horror films of the last ten years. A masterpiece that will live on. A great ending and beginning. Keeps you on your toes all through it.
3. MARTY SUPREME

The best original script of the year, and the best acted film of the year. Perfectly casted. Proof that the protagonist has to be interesting an enthralling and not necessarily a good person. Everyone should know Odessa A’zion after this.
2. SINNERS

One of the most talked about films of the year. It will be required viewing in future film studies classes. Very personal and very out loud film. A satisfying ending with terrific status quo build up. Dripping in metaphors.
1. HAMNET

Jesse Buckley giving the best performance of the year in the best directed film of the year. Outstanding filmmaking, just outstanding. The scene at the globe theater was fantastic. Expertly executed; was greatest scene of a film this year. Sensational, absolutely sensational.
